For more information, refer to the appropriate chapters of the ProSeries User's Guide. Be sure to refer to Chapter 10, "Client Organizer and Client Checklist."
You may want to use ORG5, Additional Information, to request information from your clients that is not addressed in the Client Organizer forms.
If you are using Client Organizer on a Pay-Per-Return basis, you must open and save a Client Organizer file before you can print the forms for that client.
Client Organizer does not contain all the enterable fields that are available in ProSeries/1040. If you enter information in a Client Organizer file then transfer that data to a ProSeries/1040 client file, you may have to enter additional information in ProSeries/1040. Be sure to review each client's tax return for completeness and accuracy.
You can transfer notes from a ProSeries/1040 client file for last year directly to a ProSeries/1040 client file for this year after you transfer data from this year's Client Organizer file to this year's ProSeries/1040 client file. Open the client's ProSeries/1040 client file for this year, go to the File menu, choose Transfer, select Reminder Notes and Narratives only, then click OK. After you select the client's ProSeries/1040 client file for last year, click Open. For detailed instructions, see chapter 10, "Client Organizer and Client Checklist," in the ProSeries User's Guide.
